Antenna URAN Yagi VL-033-b2
Overview
The URAN Yagi VL-033-b4 antenna is a short 3-element Udo-Yagi antenna
with a wide radiation lobe and good rear suppression (see photo).
The main purpose is to build 2-, 4- and 8-stage in-phase arrays (stacks),
including for repeaters when a sector shape of the radiation lobe is required.
The antenna can also be used as an inexpensive and compact option for
unobtrusive placement outside a window, on a balcony or roof.
The width of the main radiation lobe is such that there is almost no need to rotate it.
The VL-033 antenna is made (from aluminum alloy) in two versions:
1. Q15/4 Alpha - square tube 15x15 mm, collapsible elements Ø 4 mm, (boom L = 0.66 m).
2. Q20/8 Base - square tube 20x20 mm, solid elements Ø 8 mm. (boom L=1 m*)
*(excess) boom length - needed to avoid bending the elements during transportation. It can be reduced.
Optional:
- mounting unit
- extension cable (feeder)
Impedance: 50 Ohm. Power: < 250 W. Gain: 6.5 dBi. F/B: 12 dB.
SWR in the band 144.5-146 <1.1 (see fig).
The antenna is low-noise, as it has a balancing device
and a bandpass filter. For direct current - short-circuited + vibrator
has contact with the boom, which provides the antenna with good lightning protection.
ANTENNA ASSEMBLY:
Option Q15/4 - elements are assembled on the thread
Option Q20/8 - elements are easily pressed through the insulators in the boom (with water as a lubricant!)
** Upon request, the Antenna can be manufactured and tuned to any section
(width ~4 MHz) within the VHF range. (default band 144-146 MHz).
The antenna can withstand a wind speed of 60 km / h. Service life: at least 15 years.
! N.B. Recommended connector - N or SMA. With a UHF connector (PL-259, SO-239) - the SWR will be slightly worse than those given.
